Temporaries is the artistic project initiated by six artist who have been working in the field of contemporary dance and performance in the independent performing art scene in Belgrade (Serbia). Original aims and desires of the artists gathered on this project were to create a space and ‘community’, where they can discuss and question problems of current and potential local dance scene in Belgrade in order to create conditions for individual and collective creative processes. Further during the process, interests moved from local towards international contexts, with understanding that temporality as a marking condition for a work and knowledge production is an ongoing 'problematic' issue, within international context of performing arts too (dance and choreography). Together with this one, other terms flowing among various local and international dance contexts, emerged during the process, carring equal potentiality to be analyzed and re-examined through performance as public activity.
Temporaries performance is organized as a social game event in which artists together with spectators confront important social and art issues they are dealing with, and possibly intervene over them in public space through the performance. The aim of this social game event isn’t to place audience in 'active participation', but rather to form a temporary 'communicative community' with spectators where their territories become limitless/open and mediated. In this sense, event carries something like 'a product with a research’, since it is also being affected (always differently) by context where it is produced or performed.
